A laminate consists of different layers, each providing individual qualities, with the purpose of meeting specific requirements.
A laminate may have many tasks to fulfill, dependent on the product it must contain. This could be protection against mechanical abrasion during distribution and storage. A laminate must keep the product safe and sterile, protecting it against micro-organisms and contamination. It must offer protection against moisture and water, against oxygen, gases and aromas.
Barrier properties are often required to extend the shelf life of food products, thus helping to reduce food waste. In the non-food area, a high barrier laminate could be required for products containing aggressive chemicals, e.g. disinfectant wet wipes.
We design laminate combinations individually, and our long-standing experience has made us experts in this area.
